Apple App Store & Google Play Data Safety Compliance

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 15, 2026 • Compliant with Apple Guideline 5.1.1, Google Play User Data Policy, GDPR & CCPA

Zero-Cloud, Privacy-First Architecture

PoolDrops was engineered so that your pool data never touches our servers. We do not operate remote databases storing your test results, gate codes, or client properties. Everything you enter stays 100% on your personal device flash storage.

1. Information We Do NOT Collect

PoolDrops does not require an account, email address, password, or profile registration to use. We do not collect, track, or sell:

  • Your name, personal address, phone number, or physical location.
  • Your swimming pool gallon size, chemical readings, or service notes.
  • Your gate codes, customer records, or testing dates.

2. Mobile Device Permissions & Justification

The PoolDrops mobile application may request the following device permissions solely to provide core offline utility:

Camera (`NSCameraUsageDescription` / Android `CAMERA`)Optional

Used exclusively to allow you to take a photo of your Taylor comparator test cell (e.g. Phenol Red pH or DPD chlorine) to visually assist in matching calibrated color swatches. Photos are analyzed entirely in volatile device memory and are never saved to a remote server.

Photo Library (`NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription`)Optional

Used only if you choose to select an existing photo of a comparator tube from your gallery for color matching.

File Storage & Sharing (`expo-sharing` / Storage Write)User-Initiated

When you tap “Export CSV” on the History screen, the app creates a temporary CSV file on your device and opens your native operating system share sheet so you can email or save the report.

3. Third-Party Services & Advertising (Google AdMob)

To keep PoolDrops free for pool owners and technicians without charging monthly subscriptions, the mobile application may display advertisements served by Google AdMob (Google LLC):

  • AdMob may collect and process device identifiers (such as Apple IDFA or Google Advertising ID) subject to your operating system permissions and App Tracking Transparency (ATT) settings.
  • No pool chemical data, test records, or private notes are ever shared with or transmitted to Google AdMob.
  • You may opt out of personalized tracking at any time via your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID).

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Because your pool profiles and test logs reside solely on your device’s local memory, you have 100% control over retention:

  • You can delete individual test sessions with the trash icon in the History tab.
  • You can delete any pool profile in the Settings tab.
  • Uninstalling the app instantly and permanently purges 100% of stored data from your device memory.
